We who know Jesus can all attest to how good He is, and How good He’s been in our lives. And even though there was a time when we didn’t know Him, we can’t imagine doing life without Him.
In this life He is all things to us: our Protector, our Provider, our Healer, our Peace, and so much more. He delivers us from evil and leads us in all truth and wisdom.
When we hear of someone’s struggle, pain, or suffering, we know that the answer is only found in Him. We know this because God has revealed it to us in His Word- and because we’ve experienced first hand- how He can step in and turn it all around for good in an instant. There is nothing else like experiencing that freedom that He has for us, and to see someone be set free by the power of God.
But even more has He done for us in the life that is to come.
Our lives here, as long and important as they may seem, are only momentary in the sight of eternity.
And thank God for this time, as we are given the opportunity to know Him and choose Him and grow in ways that wouldn’t be possible in the realm of eternity. That we get to experience this life with its interplay of trials, temptations, and tribulations– surmounted by the grace and goodness and glory of God.
But we are here for only a moment.
Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. And we are living in the midst of incredible times, where biblical prophecy is unfolding before our eyes, and every piece has been put into place for the end of the world to come. Jesus is truly calling His Church home in this hour.
And the truth of eternity remains the same. In this life, God has made the way for us to know Him and be saved by Him, by grace through faith in His precious Son– Jesus Christ. If we choose to reject him here, He will honor that choice by living separate from Him in eternity. And in that unbearable state, with all realization of the Loving God we chose to reject, there is no going back. There are no ‘second chances’.
Those chances happen here on earth, lavished with grace and patience and the crying out from a God who Loves us. One who humbled and sacrificed Himself for us. Knowing that we would still choose to reject Him, He endured upon the cross, the most brutal humiliation and punishment, the fullness of wrath poured out upon Himself, to demonstrate His Love and pursuit of our salvation. And He rose again to show who He truly is, and all that He accomplished on our behalf.
The deepest love that we can fathom is only a glimpse of the Love He has for you. For your Mother, Father, Sister, Brother. For your colleague, your boss, your friend, your acquaintance. For the person who briskly pass by in the grocery store. And for the one you see crying on a bus stop.
He is desperately calling to them. And we have the obligation to be His Voice. To share His truth. This is His command to us, that we who know Him may share with others, so that they too can be saved. That is His greatest desire: that none shall perish.
There are many people who truly don’t even know the gospel (I was one of them!), there are others who’ve been hurt and misled by it, and there are some who are eagerly waiting on an answer from Him. For their sake, and in obedience to God, may we be bold and be willing to let Him be known today.
Let’s share the gospel.
Be Blessed!!!
“As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Ephesians 2:1-10
